Seastone, Sauvignon Blanc 2019, Marlborough, New Zealand
Tasting Note: A Marlborough sauvignon blanc with all the classic tropical-fruit elements that are signature of the region.
Pale-intensity lemon-green in color, this wine has an aromatic, pronounced-intensity nose of grapefruit, lychee, nectarine, over-ripe pear, golden apple, wet rock, blossom and pineapple.
On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied sauvignon blanc has medium-plus-intensity, tropical-fruit flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium-plus acidity and completing with a long finish.
The wine is steely in texture with a complex midpalate but does not overwhelm or fatigue the palate.
A good sauvignon blanc to pair with a spicy meal like the spicy tofu and bok choi stirfry I’m enjoying with it tonight.
Bottle Note: Seastones are scattered throughout the soil profile within our vineyards which help allow for good drainage. This crisp sauvignon blanc exhibits aromas of passion fruit, grapefruit and honeydew melon that pairs well with chopped salads, sautéed seafood and assorted cheeses.
