Tasting Note: A sparkling brut from South Africa that offers notes of brioche and caramel coupled with a supple finish.

Pale-intensity lemon in color, this wine has a nose of caramel, brioche and baked apple.

On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied sparkling brut is medium-plus in acidity with caramel notes on the medium finish.

Bottle Note: Simonsig Kaapse Vonkel was the first South African wine made according to the traditional method, known in South Africa as Méthode Cap Classique. The blend spends extensive time on the yeast sediment giving great depth and flavor and a rich yeast character. Pinot Noir 49%, Chardonnay 48%, 3% Pinot Meunier.
