Sosie, Red Blend 2017, Cavedale Vineyard, Moon Mountain District, Sonoma County, California
Tasting Note: A supple, cabernet-sauvignon-and-merlot-led red blend that is equally at home enjoyed by the glass or paired with a meal.
Deep-intensity purple in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of blackberry, black plum, rosehip, red currant, red cherry, black olive and violet petal with a hint of vanilla baking spice.
On the palate the dry, full-bodied red blend has medium-plus-intensity, red-and-black fruit flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity and ripe, medium-plus tannin.
A plush mouthfeel gives way to subtle midpalate complexity that ultimately completes with a long finish.
An elegant red blend.
Bottle Note: 10 barrels produced. We live in the bear state of California but we are inspired by the wines of France. So we employ an old world approach to winegrowing that favors restraint over ripeness, finesse over flamboyance. Our aim is to craft wines that show a kinship with France’s benchmark regions.
