Sosie, Red Blend 2019, Rossi Ranch, Sonoma Valley, California
Tasting Note: Red blends can be a shot in the dark when you’re shopping at the wine store; you never know what you’re going to get.
This red blend combines ripe orchard fruit with pleasing yeasty elements.
Deep-intensity ruby in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of red plum, black raspberry, brioche, red cherry, dried-crushed violet petal and dried cranberry.
On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied red blend has medium-plus-intensity, red-and-black fruit flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity and slightly-grippy, medium tannin.
There is complexity on the midpalate that lingers through to the medium-plus finish.
A red blend to seek out.

Bottle Note: 10 barrels produced. We live in the bear state of California but we are inspired by the wines of France. So we employ an old world approach to winegrowing that favors restraint over ripeness, finesse over flamboyance. Our aim is to craft wines that show a kinship with France’s benchmark regions. Wines that are Sosie. Blend: 51% Grenache, 24% Mourvedre, 15% Syrah. Vineyard: Rossi Ranch, California, Certified Organically Farmed. Harvest: 3 October 2019, 24.5 Brix.
