Stone Hill Winery, Chambourcin 2015, Missouri
Tasting Note: A Missouri Chambourcin red wine that is bursting with perfumed aromatics of silky, end-of-summer, field-and-berry fruit.
Medium-intensity purple in color, this wine has a pronounced, aromatic nose of blueberry, black plum, boysenberry with hints of hibiscus and rosehip.
On the palate the dry, medium-bodied wine is bursting with fragrant, silky, berry fruit supported by medium acidity and ripe, medium tannin.
The wine has a balanced fruit and tannin profile and is as pleasing to take in on the nose as it is on the palate.
Bottle Note: Stone Hill Winery was established in the quaint town of Hermann by German immigrants in 1847. Today, the Held Family bring you Missouri’s most historic and awarded wines. A medium-body red wine with soft tannins, vibrant black currant and cherry aromas a touch of toasty oak and black pepper. Pairs perfectly with grilled meats, pastas in rich red sauces and ripe cheeses such as brie or camembert. Prost!
