Sunce Winery & Vineyard, Chardonnay 2012, Poole Vineyard, Russian River Valley, Sonoma County, California
Tasting Note: A gorgeous, grownup, full-figured Russian River chardonnay with weight, heft and complexity.
Medium-intensity gold in color this wine has an aromatic nose of dried green apple, caramel, quince, marmalade, vanilla baking spice, brioche and nectarine stone fruit.
On the palate the dry, full-bodied chardonnay delivers ripe, medium-plus-intensity, green-and-yellow fruit flavors with undertones of dried apricot.
The wine is medium in acidity and finishes with a long, lightly-baking-spice-infused finish.
There is midpalate complexity that is bolstered by a creamy, mouthcoating texture.
A chardonnay you can chew on and savor.
Bottle Note: Suncé is a family winery located in the Russian River Valley appellation of Sonoma County – specializing in small artisan lots of vineyard designated varietal wine and classic blends. We would like to recognize Mike and Bonnie Polkinghorn for their enduring patience, expertise and passion in developing this exquisite vineyard. This true to varietal chardonnay was barrel fermented. Expressing mixed melons and citrus flavors while balanced with light oak and a creamy malo-lactic finish. Only 20 barrels made.
