Tasting Note: A flavorsome red wine that is evocative of Christmas.

Medium-intensity purple in color, this wine has a pronounced, aromatic nose of black plum, milk-chocolate shavings, red cherry, red currant, blossom and cinnamon baking spice.

On the palate the dry, medium-bodied grenache delivers medium-plus-intensity, red-fruit flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium-minus acidity and ripe, medium tannin.

The wine has layers of flavors with ruby-red-fruit midpalate complexity that completes with a medium-plus finish.

An excellent grenache, hands down.

Bottle Note: Sunce is a family winery located in the Russian River Valley appellation of Sonoma County – specializing in small artisan lots of vineyard designated varietal wine and classic blends. Frano’s stellar example of grenache offers up ripe cherries, strawberries, and a violet, cedar character dominates the nose, Gobs of pureed red fruit flavors layered delicately in mixed spice notes mingle smoothly on this full-bodied personality. An aftertaste of your favorite fruit smoothie lingers on the finish. Pair with Moroccan Skirt Steak, Hungarian Goulash, Indian curries, and macaroni and cheese. Aging 5-9 years. Only 5 barrels made.
