I attended Spain’s Great Match 2021 in New York City for it’s first post-Covid show held at Mercado Little Spain in November.
As part of the experience I got to attend several seminars including one on volcanic wines from the Canary Islands taught by Master Sommelier Evan Goldstein, Sommelier Ferran Centelles.
Cesar Saldana, President of The Regulatory Council for the Designations of Origin “Jerez-Xérès-Sherry”, “Manzanilla-Sanlúcar de Barrameda” and “Vinagre de Jerez” led a Sherry master class.
And Master Sommelier Kathy Morgan led a mini-seminar on Tempranillo.
I adore Sherry and Spanish wine and being able to attend this event two days after I arrived back from Jerez de la Frontera and Sevilla, Spain was the perfect way to acclimate to being back in the U.S.
