The Chook, Sparkling Shiraz, South Australia
Tasting Note: What a wonderful and unique category of wine sparkling shirazes are.
And this one has bite, grip and a healthy dose of tasty, ripe, black fruit.
Deep-intensity purple in color, this wine has a pronounced, aromatic nose of black plum, black currant, clove baking spice, chocolate, blackberry, violet and hibiscus.
On the palate the dry, full-bodied sparkling shiraz delivers ripe, black-fruit dominated flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium-plus acidity and ultimately completes with a long, fruit-laced finish.
The wine is medium-plus in ripe, grippy, tannin.
There is balance between the acidity and ripe fruit profile such that the wine is lifted.
Bottle Note: Uniquely Australian, The Chook Sparkling Shiraz, reflects the true intensity of color and fruit characteristics for which Australian-made Sparkling Shiraz is being enjoyed throughout the world. This wine is a full-bodied offering which combines the attributes of fruit with tannin, sweetness and bubbles to deliver rich, concentrated flavors and a full and rewarding palate. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it as a special occasion wine just as much as we like to tell Chook stories.
