The Fifth Empire, Destino 2015, Douro, Portugal, Wine Casual

The Fifth Empire, Destino 2015, Douro, Portugal

Tasting Note: A good, straightforward red blend from Portugal’s Douro Valley.

Deep-intensity ruby in color, this wine has a medium-plus-intensity nose of blackberry, black plum, black currant, bramble and blossom.

On the palate the dry, full-bodied red blend has medium-intensity flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity and slightly-grippy, medium tannin.

A better-than-basic red.

Bottle Note: “Destino” is the Portuguese word for Destiny. This wine is inspired by Portugal’s rich history and the destiny so many of its explorers embraced when setting out to sea. Destino is a premium blend of native grapes from the Douro Valley aged 9 months in French Oak. Brought to you by The Fifth Element Wine Company. Please enjoy! 45% Tinta Roriz, 30% Touriga Franca, and 25% Touriga Nacional.
