Trump, Rosé 2015, Monticello, Virginia
Tasting Note: Regardless of what you think of the man himself, this Trump-branded rosé is a winner that captures some of the best parts of rosé winemaking.
Salmon in color this merlot-based rosé has a nose of strawberry, red cherry, plum and orange citrus.
On the palate the light-bodied rosé is tart on the attack with aromas on the nose continuing to the palate as flavors with the fruit showing a slightly under-ripe character that gives the wine some added oomph.
The wine is medium in acidity with a somewhat citrus-infused, tart finish.
Pairs well with spring, summer and fall.
Bottle Note: Tucked into the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains where Thomas Jefferson first had a vision to make America’s finest wine, Trump Winery has crafted a terroir driven collection from the Monticello AVA. This dry rosé, made from 100% merlot, has a notes of strawberry, raspberry, and rose petals that marry perfectly with its fresh acidity.
