Ulrich Langguth, Piesporter Günterslay Auslese Riesling 2019, Mosel, Germany
Tasting Note: An electric Mosel riesling that is like drinking sunlight in a glass.
Medium-intensity lemon in color, this wine has an aromatic, pronounced-intensity nose of green pear, green apple, lemon-citrus zest, white peach, orange, green plum and blossom.
On the palate the off-dry, medium-plus-bodied Auslese riesling has pronounced-intensity, orchard-fruit flavors suggested on the nose supported by high acidity and completing with a long, green-apple-and-white-peach-infused finish.
Pleasing complexity abounds throughout the entire length of the taste and beyond.
This is the kind of wine that shows why riesling is one of the world’s greatest wines.
Bottle Note: The riesling wine grows especially well on slatey steep slopes of the river Mosel. This Auslese wine offers a fine bouquet, a leafy sweet aroma, accompanied by fine acidity. Serve well chilled at 60-65°F.
