Virna Borgogno Barolo DOCG 2013 – An Aged Barolo with Depth & Balance

Virna Borgogno, Barolo DOCG 2013, Piedmont, Italy, Wine Casual

Virna Borgogno, Barolo DOCG 2013, Piedmont, Italy

Tasting Note: An aged, concentrated Barolo with the potpourri of red-fruit that is the wine’s signature.

Deep-intensity ruby in color with garnet around the edges, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of dried red cherry, strawberry, boysenberry, red currant and raspberry.

On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied Barolo has medium-plus-intensity, red-fruit flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium-plus acidity and ripe, velvety, medium tannin.

Red fruit-complexity runs throughout the length of the taste.

A Barolo with depth and balance.
