Vox Vineti, Polyphony 2015, Galloping Cat Vineyard, Pennsylvania
Tasting Note: A sensual, aromatic, cabernet-franc-led red blend with cab-franc varietal typicity and concentration.
Deep-intensity ruby in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of black-plum puree, pencil shavings and graphite with some hints of cedar, dried-crushed violet petal and raspberry.
On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied red blend has medium-to-medium-plus flavor intensity with slightly grippy, medium-plus tannin.
The wine is medium-plus in acidity with concentration in the midpalate and a slightly-curved angularity at the 1/3 point of the taste.
Composed of 78% cabernet franc this wine could legally be labeled varietally as cabernet franc, but Vox Veneti prefers to market the wine as its signature red blend.
Bottle Note: 78% Cabernet Franc, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Petit Verdot.
Price: $45
