Weingut Edling, Rossdorfer Rossberg, Spätburgunder 2016, Germany
Tasting Note: Another example of a delightful, affordable spätburgunder from Germany.
Medium-intensity purple in color, this wine has a pleasing, aromatic nose of strawberry, red plum, crushed red cherry and blossom.
On the palate the dry, medium-bodied pinot noir delivers smooth, red-fruit flavors suggested on the nose along with some hints of vanilla baking spice and raspberry.
There are some notes of midpalate complexity backed by medium-plus acidity, and slightly-grippy, medium tannin.
The wine has a medium-plus-intensity, black-plum-infused finish.
A great bargain for the price point (in Germany).
