Tasting Note: A reserved cabernet franc with Loire-like, black-tea notes in the midpalate.

Medium-intensity purple in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of red plum, red cherry, raspberry and blossom with some herbal and floral notes.

On the palate the dry, medium-bodied cabernet franc has medium-intensity flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity and slightly-grippy, medium-plus tannin.

While 2018 was a cool vintage, the cabernet franc shows well and reveals those subtle, cool-weather elements that I adore in Loire cabernet franc.

Bottle Note: The cooler climate and sandy loam soils of the Outer Coastal Plain produce some of the best cabernet franc wines in the world. This reserve vintage was hand selected by our winemaker to exemplify the subtle characteristics of the cabernet franc varietal. White Horse wines are inspired by the Vinton family’s five decade long love affair with wine. Focusing first on French Bordeaux style and later on California wines, we bring a unique combination of old and new world techniques to our winemaking. The label art was created by renowned Brandywine School artist Jamie Wyeth to capture the bold independent sprit of White Horse Winery. Pairing suggestions: Red Meat, Poultry, Hard Cheese, Pasta.
