Amalthea Cellars, Cabernet Franc Reserve 2017, New Jersey

Tasting Note: A plush cabernet franc with layered-red fruit and a pleasing, silky mouthfeel that is old-world reminiscent.

Medium-intensity ruby in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of rhubarb, red plum, hibiscus, boysenberry, raspberry and blossom.

On the palate the dry, medium-bodied cabernet franc has medium-plus-intensity, red-fruit flavors suggested on the nose with additional notes of fig and red cherry supported by medium acidity and ripe, medium tannin.

Complexity ensues on the midpalate and the wine completes with a medium-plus finish.

A European-inspired, new-world cabernet franc.
