Bacalhôa, Quinta da Garrida Reserva Red 2014, Dão, Portugal

Tasting Note: A beautiful Touriga-Nacional-led red blend from the Dão that combines rich black fruit and florality.

Deep-intensity purple in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of black plum, raspberry, violet blossom, black cherry, red currant and dried cranberry.

On the palate the dry, full-bodied red blend, has medium-plus-intensity, black-fruit flavors suggested on the nose along with additional dried fruit notes.

The wine is supported by medium acidity and ripe, slightly-grippy, medium-plus tannin.

The wine is balanced with emergent midpalate complexity that completes with a medium-plus finish.

Yummy.

Bottle Note: Grapes: 70% Touriga Nacional, 30% Tinta Roriz. Produced in the Dão region of Central Portugal, from a blend of Touriga Nacional and Tinta Roriz, from our single estate near the Serra da Estrela mountain. It was aged 12 months in Russian and French oak barrels to give deep color and high complexity.
