Berghold Estate Vineyards, Viognier 2013, Lodi, California
Tasting Note: An enjoyable porch-sitting viognier with lots to recommend it.
This yellow-to-golden colored white wine has a nose of ripe pear and green apple with some vanilla baking spice.
On the palate the medium-bodied viognier is medium in acidity and lighter in style than its 15.2% alcohol level would suggest.
Bottle Note: Berghold wines are crafted from grapes grown in vineyards located at the base of the Sierra Nevada. The low-yield, flavor-concentrated grapes express the distinct quality of our vineyards and the Lodi appellation. A classic Mediterranean climate of warm days and cool nights produces rich, round flavors and unique character.
