Braddock Oak, Single Barrel Rye Whisky, Virginia
Tasting Note: A rye whisky with a well-balanced oak-and-rye character that complements a Manhattan.
Amber in color, this spirit has a medium-plus-intensity nose of vanilla-and-clove baking spice, walnut, molasses, rye and caramel with hints of butterscotch.
On the palate the dry, full-bodied whisky has pronounced-intensity, rye-fulsome flavors suggested on the nose supported by rounded, well-integrated, medium-plus tannin.
The whisky texture is softened with ice or mixers while still maintaining its rye identity.
Bottle Note: In 1755, soldiers marching through Virginia sipped the local rye whisky under the spreading branches of the Braddock Oak. Its mark on the landscape is echoed by the mark of the oak on this exceptional whisky. The spice of the rye is mellowed with oak to create an exceptionally smooth whisky with timeless character and elegance. Braddock Oak Rye is produced in the Virginia Blue Ridge Mountains from the finest organic grain and aged in charred new oak barrels. Each batch is fermented, distilled and bottled entirely by hand.
