Cartuxa, Évora Tinto Colheita 2016, Alentejo, Portugal
Tasting Note: A plush, Portuguese red blend with an alluring combination of red-and-black fruit.
Deep-intensity ruby in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of black plum, crushed black cherry, strawberry, raspberry puree, blackberry and violet blossom.
On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied red blend has medium-plus-intensity, red-and-black-fruit flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity and ripe, medium-plus tannin ultimately completing with a medium-plus finish.
The wine is silky in texture with punctuated complexity running along the midpalate.
A great value for the price.
