Chalk Hill, Estate Sauvignon Blanc 2019, Chalk Hill, California
Tasting Note: A sauvignon blanc with cool-weather elements and subtlety of flavor that presents the grape in a classic, old-world form.

Photo Credit: Wine Casual, In addition to producing wine, Chalk Hill also farms an organic garden. Pictured is a holiday box of goodies from their garden that includes sunchokes, butternut squash, beets and carrots.
Pale-intensity lemon in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of pear, quince, white nectarine, forest floor, blossom and grapefruit with hints of cut-green grass.
On the palate the dry, medium-bodied sauvignon blanc has medium-intensity flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium-plus acidity and completing with a green-fruit-infused, medium-plus finish.
There are midpalate layers of complexity.
A food-friendly sauvignon blanc that would pair with a multiplicity of dishes including the Coq au Vin, I’m enjoying this evening.
