Darom By Yatir, Red 2020, Israel
Tasting Note: A red blend from the Israel desert that delivers a full-bodied, black-fruit experience buttressed by red fruit notes.
Deep-intensity purple in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of black raspberry, blackberry, red cherry, strawberry, violet blossom and rosehip.
On the palate the dry, full-bodied red blend has medium-plus-intensity flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium-minus acidity and ripe, medium-plus tannin.
The wine is hearty and pairs well with grilled vegetables and grilled meats.
Bottle Note: Darom (“the South), is made by Yatir Winery to showcase Israel’s southern wine county in all its splendor. The winery team has expanded the boundaries of its terroir to include additional high-altitude vineyards. Darom wines are composed of varieties grown in the complex desert conditions, creating unique original blends that are inviting, smooth and accessible. Darom wines combine simplicity and modesty with desert complexity, placing the Negev on Israel’s highest quality wine map. Darom White 2020 – Dry red wine. This wine is composed of 61% shiraz, 20% zinfandel, 12% marselan and 7% grenache, deriving from various regions in the Negev. Each wine was aged individually in large oak vats (foudres) and concrete vats for 9 months. This created a refreshing and fruity wine that will pair well with Mediterranean cuisine.
