Domaine La Tour Vieille, Reserva Banyuls Vin Doux Naturel, Rhone, France
Tasting Note: A silky-textured, red-and-black-fruit-filled, Banyuls, vin-doux-naturel fortified wine that is lighter and lower in alcohol than Port and could be your summer or warmer-weather Port alternative – or frankly enjoyed on its own.
Deep-intensity ruby in color, this wine has a medium-plus intensity nose of black plum, strawberry, red cherry, raspberry and violet.
On the palate the medium-sweet, full-bodied Banyulshas slightly, grippy, medium-plus tannin and medium-plus-intensity flavors suggested on the nose.
The wine is medium in alcohol and acidity.
The wine has a creamy texture and a long finish.
This vin doux naturel is very good in quality because of its flavor intensity and complexity of flavors.
I adore.
