Dos Puentes, Estate Blend 2013, Uco Valley, Mendoza, Argentina
Tasting Note: This wine is another supporting pillar and proof point of the larger malbec-blend story that will be part of Argentina’s successful wine future.
This purple-colored malbec (40%), cabernet sauvignon (40%) and merlot blend (20%) has a nose of black fruit with blackberry, black plum and red cherry starring as lead aromas.
Aromas continue to the palate as flavors with somewhat understated, ripe black fruit as compared to the more pervasive Argentinean fruit-forward style.
The fruit components perform as a whole in your mouth supported by a thin layer of cedar.
Enjoyable.
Bottle Note: The vineyard of Dos Puentes is located in the Valle de Uco, in the shadow of the majestic Andes.
