Le Pré Vaujour, Chinon 2016, Loire, France
Tasting Note: A cabernet franc made in the classic Chinon style.
Medium-intensity ruby in color this wine has an aromatic nose of red plum, violet, blossom, pencil shavings and black tea.
On the palate the dry, medium-plus bodied cabernet franc reveals restrained red fruit, supported by medium-plus acidity and smooth, ripe, medium-tannin.
The wine is in balance with fruit well complimented by a tannin structure that does not overwhelm.
A versatile wine that could accommodate many a meal which is why it’s always found on bistro menus in France.
