McCay Cellars, Paisley Red Blend 2012, Lodi, California
Tasting Note: This ruby colored red blend of four different zinfandels and petite sirah has a nose of black plum mixed with rasiny black fruit.
There are also some light cedar notes, dripping with beads of black fruit.
On the palate the medium-plus bodied wine is medium in tannin.
It doesn’t taste quite like its component parts but rather presents as a blend of the lighter essences of black fruit.
Something unique and interesting — like paisley itself.
