Michéle Capdepon Blanquette de Limoux Brut – Sparkling Wine for Everyday

Michéle Capdepon, Blanquette de Limoux Brut, France, Wine Casual

Michéle Capdepon, Blanquette de Limoux Brut, France

Tasting Note: A reserved sparkling Limoux from an area of Languedoc that has a long history of making sparkling wines.

Medium-intensity lemon in color with small-to-medium-sized bubbles, this wine has a medium-intensity nose of honeydew melon, crabapple, caramel, green plum and blossom with hints of white peach.

On the palate the dry, medium-bodied Blanquette de Limoux has medium-intensity flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium-plus acidity and completing with a caramel-infused medium finish.

The wine is mostly straightforward with some yeasty notes on the midpalate.

Sparkling wine for everyday.

Bottle Note: Our sparkling wines are the result of a long tradition of non-interventionist winemaking in the Languedoc region. Long before the dry wines today, there existed the richer, fruitier “Méthode Ancestrale” that we consider our region’s treasure. Made from the Mauzac varietal (100%), our “Méthode” has not changed for over 100 years. The ripe fruit notes and low alcohol make the wine a perfect aperitif option or can be paired with mild cheeses and desserts. Our Blanquette de Limoux (mauzac/chardonnay) and Crémant de Limoux (chardonnay/chenin blanc) offer great citrus fruit with minerality and fine bubbles to enjoy on their own or with any shellfish or white meat dishes.
