Nik Weis Selection, Urban Riesling 2015, Mosel, Germany
Tasting Note: An affordable Mosel riesling that impresses in flavor complexity, especially for the price point.
Lemon in color this wine has a nose of fuji apple, muscadine and grape along with a dusting of lime zest.
The wine is also slightly petillant (something I personally adore) with bubbles clinging to the inside your glass offering an extra bit of excitement.
On the palate the dry riesling is high in acidity with a lively mouthfeel particularly on the mid-to-back palate where minerality and tartness play well together through to the finish.
The riesling imparts some of the flavors complexities often found in indigenous-yeast fermented wine, though the wine is not indigenous-yeast fermented to my knowledge.
Low in alcohol, this riesling is perfect for summer sipping while allowing you to safely pace yourself over an evening.
Tell your sister.
Bottle Note: A fresh & juicy riesling with an elegant character grown on mineral rich slate soil in the steep slopes of the Mosel Valley. It is the perfect match with Asian dishes such as Indian curries, mildly spicy fish & poultry.
