Sierra Norte, Colección Privada Porta Regia Old Vine Monastrell 2016, Jumilla, Spain
Tasting Note: Monastrell the way Jumilla, Spain intended it to be made.
Deep-intensity purple in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of blackberry, black plum, kirsch, raspberry puree, red currant and crushed violet petal.
On the palate the dry, full-bodied monastrell has ripe, black-fruit-filled, medium-plus-intensity flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity and ripe, slightly-grippy, medium plus tannin ultimately completing with a medium-plus-finish.
There is midpalate complexity and black-fruit integration across the entire length of the taste.
