VDR, Very Dark Red 2019, Monterey County, California
Tasting Note: A full-throttle red blend filled with deep, rich, red-and-black fruit.
Deep-intensity purple in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of rhubarb, red currant, black cherry, blackberry, dried cranberry, cassis and hibiscus.
On the palate the dry, full-bodied red blend has medium-plus-intensity flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity and ripe, slightly-grippy, medium-plus tannin completing with a medium-plus finish.
The wine is straightforward with a slightly-creamy texture.
Great to pair with grilled meats and poultry dishes with sauces.
