Château du Jaunay, Muscadet Sèvre et Maine Sur Lie 2014, Loire Valley, France
Tasting Note: Muscadet traditionally pairs well with seafood and this inoffensive and straightforward Muscadet is no exception.
Pale lemon-green in color this wine has a nose green apple and pear sprinkled with yeast courtesy of its lees aging.
On the palate the light-bodied, dry Muscadet has a soft texture and a round tartness that plays towards the top of your throat to your back palate, and there is also lemon citrus.
The wine is medium-plus in acidity and is refreshing with a pleasing tertiary-aging character reflective of aging and lees contact.
Bottle Note: Golden color for a fresh and dry wine. Freshness and nice aromas of lemon. Serve with shellfish, poultry and cheeses.
