São Miguel Do Sul, Red Wine 2018, Vinho Regional Alentejano, Portugal
Tasting Note: A solid red from Portugal that is a versatile, midweek-meal partner with lots of bright black fruit.
Deep-intensity ruby in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of black plum, blackberry, raspberry, cassis and strawberry blossom.
On the palate the dry, full-bodied red blend has medium-plus-intensity flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium-acidity and ripe, medium-plus-intensity tannin.
The wine is creamy in texture with some notes of complexity along the midpalate ultimately completing with a black-fruit-tilted, medium-plus finish.
Bottle Note: With pride from the land of cork. Portugal is the world’s biggest producer of cork, and our region is usually named the land of cork. Portuguese cork forests are named by the environmental ONG as one of the 35 biodiversity hotspots in the Earth. This brand is a tribute to the land of cork, the same blessed land that enables us to grow vines and make wine in this unique terroir. Made from our typical grapes this wine reflects our 3,000 hours of sun in its aromas and flavors. This cork label shows endless practical uses for this natural material.
