Sunce Winery & Vineyard, Petite Sirah 2016, Frog’s Tooth Vineyard, Sierra Foothills, California
Tasting Note: An inky petite sirah filled with lovely aromatics and ripe, summer fruit.
Deep-intensity ruby in color, this wine has an aromatic, pronounced-intensity nose of black currant, black plum, red currant, violet blossom and kirsch.
On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied petite sirah has ripe, medium-plus-intensity, black-fruit flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity and well-integrated, medium-plus tannin.
There is midpalate complexity and balance.
The kind of wine that pairs well with grilled meats and cuddling in blankets.
