Warwick Estate, The Black Lady Syrah 2014, Stellenbosch, South Africa
Tasting Note: A strong, yet supple, South African syrah.
Deep-intensity purple in color this wine has a nose of blackberry, black currant, violet and black plum.
On the palate the dry, full-bodied syrah has black fruit flavors suggested on the nose along with some notes of black pepper.
The wine has flavor concentration, depth and mid-palate complexity along with velvety, high-tannin that would bode well for ageability.
Bottle Note: Decomposed granite. North facing slopes. Hand-picked. Whole bunch stem ferment. Wild yeast. 500L French oak barrels. 12 barrels made.
